About

Brendan Totten is a Rube Goldberg machine that converts coffee into drawings, prints and illustrations. Originally cobbled together from spare parts in and around Washington D.C., his mechanisms were refined at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. When not whirring and clattering away on artwork, Brendan can be found in the company of crickets attempting to gain sentience.

Nice things people have said

Working with Brendan is always a pleasure. His editorial concepts for an assignment are always strong and well thought out. He clearly does his research and thinks about the best approach to take, offering the magazine’s art team sketches that are both creative and intelligent. He is quick to respond to comments and meets the tight deadlines that a monthly publication requires.

Brendan has quickly become a go-to illustrator of mine. His illustrations are incredibly creative and incredibly well executed. I never have any worry when working with Brendan that he will come up with an amazing visual representation of our editorial stories. He is easy to work with and has always been on time with sending me sketches and the final illustrations. He is also very quick to respond to any emails which is really great, especially with our tight deadlines. Brendan comes highly recommended from me!
