Entanglements is an ongoing series of observational drawings that explores composition, space, and structure through the lens of the concept of quantum super-positioning. The name Entanglements references both this concept and the knotted shapes that these drawings take. A subject is drawn repeatedly from different viewing points, layering different visual elements until ultimately the original subject is nearly unrecognizable. Then I use the observed lines and form to describe new structures and compositions. The original subject is simultaneously present and hidden in these drawings, both expressed and obscured by it’s own visual elements. The goal is to create ambiguity of space and structure so that a viewers interpretation of the drawing changes as they move about the composition.
